This set of recipes is from Rehydration Project, a group that is dedicated to ending diarrhea around the world. Make a drink with 1 L of water, or 5 cups, 6 tsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt. For a second version, use 1 L water, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. baking soda and 2 tbsp. sugar or honey.
Drink Mix Recipe

Southern Utah University came up with a flu kit complete with its own electrolyte replacement fluid recipe. Take 2 qts. water, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt and 7 tbsp. of sugar and mix together. You can add in a packet of sugar-free drink mix, such as Kool Aid, to give your drink some flavor, and you can also make ice cubes and ice pops out of the drink, if desired.
